Obituary for Thomas Martin

Thomas E. Martin, 81, of Erie, PA passed away at Ball Pavilion after a short illness on Friday, April 29, 2022.

He was born in Erie on September 18, 1940, a son of the late, Edward and Agnes (Wright) Martin.

Tom attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School, Roosevelt Middle School, and graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1958. Tom served in the United States Air Force for two years before starting his 38 year career at Penelec. He retired in 1996 as an Electrical Equipment Maintenance Technician. After retirement, Tom kept himself busy with many odd jobs where he enjoyed meeting new people. He loved fishing, bowling, golfing, and vegetable gardening especially his tomatoes. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and liked going to camp with the boys. During his younger years, Tom liked working on cars and being involved with the Indian Guides with his son, David. Tom spent the best 38 years of his life married to his best friend, Nancy. He will be forever missed by all of his family and friends.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by his step-father, Joseph C. Martin.

Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy (Terrizzi) Martin, children, Sarah Wilson, David Martin (Girlfriend, Linda Ebach), Jennifer Simons (Chris), and Megan Gaeta (Joseph), grandchildren, Elizabeth Wilson, Olivia Wilson, Emma Gaeta, and Ryan Gaeta, brother, Dennis Martin (Gloria), his sister, Linda Heinl (Walter), and his special dog, Charly. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call on Wednesday at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St Erie, PA 16502 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm and are invited to the prayer service at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:15am followed by the Funeral Mass at St. Luke Church at 11am.
