Obituary for Thomas Guido
Thomas J. Guido, age 91, of Erie, PA., passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2021. He was born in Erie on August 2, 1930, son of the late John and Maria Perri Guido.
Thomas graduated from St. Joseph’s Grade School in 1943, and Academy High School in 1947. He then graduated from Penn State University in 1951 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering.
His first employment was with Gulf Oil Corporation in Philadelphia, PA. In 1955, he enlisted into the Army of the United States and underwent basic training at Fort Knox, KY. He then served out his enlistment at the Army Chemical Center, MD.
In 1957 he was employed by the Lord Corporation, building aluminum panels with adhesive. He then taught Mathematics at Gannon before working at Electron Research working on semi conduction. He then worked at Continental Rubber, and was later employed by the Erie School District for six and a half years.
He enjoyed attending cultural activities, reading, motoring, and playing golf.
Besides his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his sister Ann Guido.
He is survived by his Goddaughter, Rosilynn Barone of New Hartford, NY., and her sister Remilee Hays of Russell, PA.
Friends may call on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at St. Joseph Church/Bread of Life Community from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
