Obituary for Richard Karle Jr.
Richard J. Karle, Jr. of Erie, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2021 due to numerous health problems over the last couple of years.
Richard was born in Erie on March 1, 1947, son of the late Richard J. Karle, Sr. and Jennie “Peg” Karle.
He was a graduate of St. Lukes Grade School and Tech High School with Honorable Mention Class of 1965. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of Sergeant. He was always very proud of his four years of service to his country. “Semper Fi”.
Upon returning to Erie, he was employed for a short time at LORDS Manufacturing, after which he worked at the Erie Post Office as a Mail Sorter for 31 years. He loved to listen and sing to the “Oldies” music of the 50’s and 60’s and had an extensive record collection.
Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife Shelly Karle and numerous Aunts and Uncles.
He is survived by his brother Dennis “Mike” Karle, and his sister Kathy (Karle) Brooks, both of Erie, and one nephew, Jeremy R. Brooks of Portland, Oregon.
