Obituary for Phyllis McCall (Mitchell)
Phyllis A. (Mitchell) McCall, don't even ask her age, of Erie, passed away on January 27, 2023.
She was born in Erie on March 9, 1961 a daughter of the late Theo Jones and Mello Frith Mitchell.
Phyllis liked to cook, eat, plant flowers and loved spending time and taking care of her grandkids. She was a firecracker and fighter and very fashionable. She never went anywhere without having her hair, makeup and nails done. She was like a mom to her nieces and nephews, treating them like her own. One thing everyone should remember, don’t go thru her purse! She will be missed and loved by everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons, Derrick McCall, Jr and Lamar McCall, a daughter, Laporcha McCall, a granddaughter, Ma'Laya M. Crosby and a sister, Terri Maxwell.
She is survived by her husband, Derrick McCall, three sons, Earvin Amos, Ricky Pullium and Darnell McCall, a daughter, Taja McCall, twenty grandchildren, six sisters, Mello Dee Mitchell, Jaine Mitchell, Joy Frith, Toni Jones, Tara, and Carmen, four brothers, Benny Mitchell, Franklin Frith, Theo Jones, and Robert Jones. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
