Phyllis Ann (Pam) Marchini, 83, of Erie, died on Saturday, August 14, 2021. She was born in Erie on June 6, 1938, daughter of the late Louis and Bernetta Heberle Marchini.
Phyllis went to Holy Rosary Grade School, where she participated in the Erie Dispatch-WLEU Quizdown, attended Academy High School, where she was in National Honor Society, co-editor of the school newspaper, and graduated with distinction in 1956. She worked at the former Epp Furniture Company and then General Electric as an Administrative Secretary for 36 1/2 years until retirement in 1993. She was a member of the GE Secretaries Club and the GE Quarter Century Club. Phyllis enjoyed walking, crossword puzzles, playing cards, several trips with friends and family, and spending time with family. All her nieces and nephews have fond memories of sleep overs, trips, and feeling special when with “Aunt Pam”. Phyllis was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, where she attended daily Mass, and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was involved in various additional ministries, including Pastoral Council, Stewardship Committee, Greeting Card Ministry, and she helped with church dinners and receptions.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her sister, Rita Jean Altman, brother-in-law, Ron Rieger, Jr., and nephew, John Altman, Jr.
She is survived by her sister, Marilyn Louise Rieger of Erie, and many nieces and nephews: Louis Rieger (Laurie) and their children Robbie and Krista; Linda Graves and her children Collin, Jackson, and Elena; Debra Griffis (Scott) and her sons Jordan, Joshua, and Joseph; Scott Altman (Lori) and daughters Emilee and Alison; Brian Altman (Brendan); Jennifer Altman (Matt) and her children Madison and Ryan; Christopher Conroe (Brynn); Renee Altman and Shane Altman.
Friends may call on Friday at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras Street Erie, PA 16502 from 3 pm until 7 pm. The prayer service will be held on Saturday at 9:15 am at the funeral home, followed by the Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 am. The family has asked visitors to wear masks and observe social distancing at the services. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on the Kloecker Funeral Home Facebook page.
Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
