Obituary for Pauline Schoening (Edington)

Pauline Edington Schoening, age 94, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

She was born in Lakewood, NY on July 14, 1928 a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jane Pangborn Edington.

She lived in Falconer, NY for many years when she visited Erie and decided to stay.

Pauline worked for Marx Toys, Erie Resister, Kondu Co, Odin Stove, the YMCA as a cook, Miller’s Dept Store, KMart Discount and the Sterling Seal Co. She volunteered at the St. Martin Center for over 64 years. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, bingo, flea markets, country music, square dancing, and roller skating. She was the last of 11 children and will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Schoening, a son, Donald Pepperman, three daughters, Judy Zaczyk, Cynthia Holdsworth and Mary Burns, two daughters-in-law, Darlene Schoening and Ev Pepperman, two sons-in-law, Richard Waldo and George Zaczyk, a grand-daughter, Salena Waldo and siblings, Virginia Parrett, Ruby McSadqus, Esther Bartells, Charlotte Markham and Fred, James, Robert, George and Thomas Eddington,

She is survived by two sons, James Schoening (Patty) and David Pepperman, three daughters, DeAnna Waldo, Peggy Woodring (Eugene) and Gloria Malone, two sons-in-law, Larry Burns andGary Malone, 29 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
