Obituary for Patrick Kloecker

Patrick Joseph Kloecker, age 36, of Erie, passed away on November 6, 2021 after an extended and courageous battle with brain cancer.  He was born in State College, PA as the oldest son of Joseph and Amy (Shipley) Kloecker.

Patrick graduated from Cathedral Prep in 2004 and Gannon University in 2008 where he earned his degree in Accounting.  He began his career with General Electric in the Financial Management Program and accepted positions of increasing responsibility, ultimately landing in the Corporate Headquarters in Chicago, IL.  Upon his return to Erie, he accepted and cherished his Controller responsibilities at Port Erie Plastics.

He was a lifelong member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish and attended Our Lady’s Christian School where he developed many, many lifelong friendships.  Patrick became hooked on golf at age 1, was a top junior golfer, member of the Prep Golf Team (Captain), the Gannon Golf Team and simply loved the game.  He had a brief stint on the Prep basketball team before becoming a CYO standout on a state championship contending St. Jude team.  He also enjoyed watching a variety of sports with friends and family, especially if wagering was involved.

This Prep golfer met a McDowell cheerleader named Heather Lawrence, who became the love of his life.  They have been together since their Senior year of high school and have been raising four beautiful children: Ava Rose, Anthony Patrick, Alexander Maddox and Ari Vincent.  They are the loves of his life.  “Nurse” Heather is to be commended for the loving care that she provided for Pat since the onset of his illness, he is undoubtedly and eternally grateful.

Patrick is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Linda Shipley.

He is survived by his spouse Heather, children Ava, Anthony, Alex and Ari, parents, Joe and Amy Kloecker, sister, Julie Bauman (Andrew), niece, Grace Bauman, brother, Mike Kloecker, In-laws, Jerry and Renee Lawrence, sister-in-law, Tiffany Lawrence, grandparents, Joe and Jean Kloecker and Joe Shipley, as well as many, many aunts, uncles, cousins, work colleagues, golf partners and a tremendous network of friends.  Pat loved everyone and will be sadly missed by those that loved him.
