Obituary for Patricia Scarpino (Carroll)

Patricia M. “Pat” Carroll Scarpino, age 80, of Erie passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Saint Mary’s at Asbury Ridge. Born on December 10, 1941, in Erie, she was a daughter to the late James P. and Loretta Mehler Carroll.

Pat was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish. She enjoyed cooking — making dinner for her family every night and sauce on Sundays — as well as word search puzzles and her snowmen collection. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Benedict Scarpino Sr.; five children, Karen Paradise, husband Albert, Diane Hefner, husband Joseph, Benedict Scarpino Jr., wife Michele, all of Erie, Suzanne Scarpino, of Willowick, Ohio, and Kathleen Applebee, husband Robert, of Melbourne, Florida; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, fiancé Bridgett Kerstetter, Alex, and Dominick Scarpino, Bobby, Lily, and Sammy Applebee, and Xavier Henderson, and great-grandsons, Dominic Hefner and Allen Scarpino. She also is survived by one brother, David Carroll, wife Beverly, sister-in-law Mary Catherine Smith, and several nieces and nephews.
