Obituary for Mary Ann Welch

Mary Ann Shurrager Welch, age 86, of Erie, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.

She was born in Erie on May 30, 1935 a daughter of the late Norman and Bertha Colgrove Shurrager.

While caring for her mother and then her husband and enjoying her grandchildren, she slowly progressed with her 20 year battle with dementia while somehow gently comforting her children as she slowly faded and finished her duties here on earth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Welch, Sr. in 2001 and two brothers, Norman and Ray Shurrager.

She is survived by three daughters, Gerrianne Baker (Jeff) of Millcreek, Kathleen Clark (John) of Texas and Mary Ellen Wells (Ken) of Michigan, three sons, Bruce Welch, Jr (Rita) of Georgia, Timothy Welch (Lori) of Erie and John Welch (Doreen) of Erie, a sister, Dorothy Mae Barringer and 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
