Obituary for Mary Pattison

Mary Ann Hart Pattison, age 92, of Erie, PA., passed away at home on Saturday December 4, 2021. She was born in Erie, PA., on April 30, 1929, a daughter of the late Harry C. and Virginia Herrmann Hart.

She was 5 years old when her mother died and was then raised by her aunt Edith (Hart) Franz and Uncle George Franz.

Mary Ann graduated Academy High School in June of 1946 and attended Erie Commercial College. She worked as executive secretary for local industries. She later acquired B+D Business Service and Abby Craft Printing Company with her late husband G.T. Pattison. She was an associate of Our Lady of Charity and volunteer at Gannondale for more than 40 years. She also serviced as a member of Catholic Social Service and St. Joseph Orphanage. She was Governor of Midwestern Region of The Adventure Club. Mary Ann was a long time member of St. Peter’s Cathedral, past president of the Woman’s Council and responsible for scheduling masses for the last 12 years.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband G.T. Pattison, sisters Constance Stumpo, Katherine (Franz) Stewart, Niece Mary Kay Guinn, Great Nephews Nicholos Helmer, Timothy Denning, Grand Nephews Joseph and Jeff Rodgers.

She is survived by her brother Arthur Franz (Carol), Sixteen Nieces and Nephews, Robert Stumpo, Rick Stumpo, Frank Stumpo, Laura McIntyre (Craig), Lottie Proper, Rosanne Bliss (Jim), Christina Hipple (Jim Gelletta), Michael Franz (Julie), David Franz (Kellie), Steven Franz, Susan Stenger (Shane), Lisa Franz (Jim Reinig), Linda Christie (David Longmire), Jeffrey Neil (Betsy), Brian Neil (Terry) and Beth Ann Giller (Scott), also 40 Great Nieces and Nephews, 56 Great Grand Nieces and Nephews, and 10 God children.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 9, 2021. at St. Peter’s Cathedral from 9:30am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.
