Obituary for Margaret Walkiewicz (Walkiewicz)
Margaret Jane Walkiewicz, age 76, of Erie, PA, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on September 9, 2021.
She was born to parents Chester and Helen Walkiewicz on March 14, 1945 in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Margaret grew up in a loving family with her brothers Dr. Tom Walkiewicz (Judy) and Chester (Shirley (deceased) and Theresa.) She graduated from Saint Benedict’s Academy, married, and had 4 children-Richard Rehberg (Jennifer), Renee Wright (James), April Rehberg (deceased) and William Rehberg (Marie.) In addition to her children she also leaves to cherish her memory her beloved grandchildren Allison, Lucas, Olivia, Nicholas, and Sebastian. She also leaves behind her beloved Miles Kovski, who has been part of her family for many years.
Margaret worked in Human Resources at the Dr. Gertrude A. Barber Center and also the PA Soldiers and Sailors Home where she retired in 2006. Margie made holidays, family gatherings, and ordinary days more special with her compassion and thoughtfulness for others. She enjoyed cooking, travel, gardening, volunteering at her church, her dear friends, but most especially-her time with her grandchildren. Margaret was adored by all who knew her and will be missed beyond measure.
An informal, casual gathering and celebration of her life will be held at the convenience of her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
