Obituary for Mabel Beck (Walbert)
Mabel Beck Powers, 80, of Cranesville, PA passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021.
She was born in Ford City, PA, a daughter of the late, Raymond C. And Verda V. (Wolfe) Walbert.
Mabel moved to Erie in the late 60s and then to Girard in the early 70s. She married Ronald Beck and together they raised their sons, Raymond and Greg Beck. Mabel attended Barber School and began her career at 12th and Powell, and later owned a shop at W 26th and Midland. After she sold that location, she continued to work for the new owner until she retired. Mabel took great pride in her career and often thought of her customers as family. She also enjoyed quilting.
In addition to her parents, Mabel is preceded in death by her former husband, Ronald Beck.
She is survived by her husband, Richard H. Powers, sons, Raymond Beck (Fiance Mel Modie) and Greg A. Beck Sr., stepchildren, Sharon Richardson, David Powers (Helen), and Wayne Powers, and two grandchildren, Greg Jr. and Mandy Ashton Rose Beck.
