Obituary for Linda Shearer (Maxon)
Linda Lee Shearer, 83, of Erie, PA passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020.
She was born in North East, PA on December 24, 1937, a daughter of the late, Dale and Florence (Allen) Maxon.
After high school, Linda went to Erie Business School to become a secretary. She worked in the insurance industry as a secretary for many years on top of being a homemaker. She married Robert “Bob” Shearer in 1975 and spent many wonderful years together until he passed away in 2003. Linda liked camping, sewing, and crafts. She loved all different animals, especially her dog, Buddy. Linda was very civic minded, often volunteering at the polls, and she was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shearer, and a step-daughter, Rosemary McAndrew Fisher.
Linda is survived by her son, Ronald Washe, step-daughter, Linda Stempka (John), step-son, Robert Shearer, grandchildren, Shauna Thompson (Brad) and Ryan Washe, eight step-grandchildren, many step-great-grandchildren, brother, Keith Maxon (Donna), and sister, Vaughn Whitney, several nieces also survive.
Due to the pandemic, no services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Burial was held at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society at 2115 W 38th St Erie, PA 16508.
