Obituary for Lewis Ross

Lewis P. Ross, age 74, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021.

He was born on July 16, 1946 in Franklinville, NY, son of the late Paul and Virginia (Fries) Ross. Lew was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws, Thomas and Mary Esposito.

He graduated from Franklinville Highschool in 1964 and went on to attend Buffalo State University and earned an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering. In Buffalo, he worked at Moog Inc., and Gottry Trucking. He retired in 2016 from the Erie School District, after 32 years as an electrician.

Lew's hobbies throughout his life included boating, skiing, scuba diving, riding his motorcycle, and flying his plane. His family and friends knew him as an avid collector, of many different things. Lew belonged to the La Nuova Aurora and Siebenbuerger Clubs. He was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church and was always willing to help family and friends. Lew loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Maria (Esposito) Ross; two children: Thomas P. Ross (Ashley) and Melissa Cline (Andrew); three grandchildren: Dominic, Gabriella, and Santino Ross, as well as one more on the way, baby Cline due October 2021. Sister-in-law Sandy and John Wojtkielewicz; sister-in-law Felicia and Jeff Kenny. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a great niece and nephews.

Friends may call on Wednesday at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory Inc From 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. and are invited to the Funeral Mass on Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11 am. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com
