Obituary for Julio Achille
Julio V. Achille, age 92, of Erie, PA., passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side on Saturday, November 13, 2021. He was born on August 18, 1929, a son of the late Colombo and Maria DiMasi Achille.
Julio graduated from Academy High school, and then enlisted in the Army. He married the love of his life at the age of 26, recently celebrating their 65 year anniversary on September 1, 2021. He was an avid sports enthusiast, leaving his mark in every sports gym from in watching his kids play. He also played a few sports himself, including softball, bowling, and golfing with his kids, which lead to the annual Achille Open.
More recently, Julio enjoyed spending his days with his family, and sitting in the sun listening to Frank Sinatra.
Besides his parents, Julio was preceded in death by his two brothers, Louis Achille (Dolly), and Albert Achille (Maryann), and his sister, Stella Rys (Joseph).
Julio is survived by his wife, Joanne Achille, his six sons, Bob Achille, Ronald Achille (Donna), Daniel Achille, Julio Achille (Tammy), John Achille (Cindy), Jimmy Achille (Kim), his daughter, Julianne Rossi (Jeff), grandchildren, Ronald Jr., Alex, Amanda, Julio II, Justin, Megan, Angela, John David, Matthew, Ashley, James, Anthony, Allyson, Adam, and Emily, great-grandchildren, Payton, Aubrey, Vincent, Camille, Jillian, Julio III, Jackson, Jace, Jaelyn, Nicholas, and Ella.
Friends may call on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. from 2pm-6pm, and are invited to the prayer service there on Monday, November 22, 2021 at 10:15am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11am at Sacred Heart Church.
