Judith M. Marshall White, age 79, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020, which was also her 52nd wedding anniversary to her husband Jim.
She was born in Erie on June 19, 1941 a daughter of the late William and Jean Heggedal Marshall.
Known as Judy to her many friends and family she was a 1959 graduate of McDowell High School and a 1965 graduate of the Hamot School of Nursing where she received her LPN. Her care for others and love of nursing spanned a career that included, Pediatric Nurse for Dr. Gustave Mork M.D., Director of Nursing at the Manor Home of Erie, and several career positions at Hamot Medical Center. Her devotion to her family was reflected in her continuous volunteer work as Band Mom, Sports Mom, and Booster for Technical Memorial High School, Academy High School, and Strong Vincent High School. Her love and support of the Erie Thunderbirds Drum and Bugle Corps continued throughout her life. She opened the doors of their house to friends and family in need and always felt fortunate to be able to lend a helping hand. Many of her children’s friends to this day still call her mom. Judy loved to play bingo and pinochle and enjoyed traveling the country to visit family and friends, cruising and one of the highlights of her life was a several month-long road trip around the United States with her husband Jim. Judy and Jim had planned to celebrate the anniversary of 52 years of marriage on the date of her passing.
She is survived by her husband, James H. White, two daughters, Kelly Ogrodowczyk (Joe) of Erie and Pamela Szukala (Gregg) of Peoria, AZ, two sons, Scott White (Nicole) of Erie and Christopher White (Karen) of Anchorage, AK and a sister, Kate Glover (Patrick) of Erie. 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
