Obituary for James Terrizzi Sr.

James V. Terrizzi, Sr., 74, of Erie passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021.

He was born in Erie on September 4, 1947, a son of the late, Narchie J. And Martha (Dinges) Terrizzi.

Jim graduated from String Vincent High School. Afterwards, he joined the Army and served in Vietnam. Jim retired from the Hammermill Paper Company after 33 years working as an operator. He enjoyed woodworking, collecting trains, hunting, boating, and fishing. He also enjoyed his weekly card games with his best friend, Gerry and his cousin, Pat. He was a member of the American Legion 320 and V.F.W. 740. Jim loved his grandkids. You could find pictures of every one of them scattered on the walls of his home. The kids were his pride and joy and he loved going to every birthday party, sporting event, and recital he could.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his companion, Bonnie Bolla, his siblings, Barbara Bruno, Margaret Camp, and Donald Winek.

He is survived by his sons, James V. Terrizzi, Jr. (Kristy) and Randy S. Terrizzi (Barbara), his nine grandchildren, Zac, Jeremy, Blayke, Greyson, Angeline, Theodore, Edward, Anna, and Walter, his sister, Nancy Martin (Thomas), brother Dr. Charles Winek (Molly), and sister-in-law, Jean Winek, his life long best friend, Gerry Dombrowski, and his former wife of 31 years, Shelly Terrizzi.

Friends may call on Thursday at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie PA 16502 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm and are invited to the prayer service there on Friday at 10:15 am followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 am at Blessed Sacrament Church.
