Obituary for James Schumacher
James Richard Schumacher ("Jim", "Shoes", "Papa") 86, of Pensacola, FL, formerly of Erie, passed peacefully on Monday March 21, 2022.
He was born in Erie on December 2, 1935, a son of the late Nelson John and Ann (Brennan) Schumacher.
Jim graduated from Cathedral Prep, class of 1954 and attended Gannon College. Following College he went to work for Procter Gamble where he retired after 32 years and from his service in the Army Reserve after 28 years. He was a long time member of Erie's downtown YMCA.
He is preceded in his death by his loving wife of 48 years, Kathleen (Hunter) Schumacher and his brother John Nelson "Jack" Schumacher.
He is survived by his son, Michael Nelson Schumacher of Pensacola, Florida, and his two daughters, Maureen Schumacher and her husband, Jeffrey Cole, Atlanta, Ga., and Maggie Schumacher and her husband, Patrick McNutt, Shalimar, Florida. Also surviving are grandchildren Hunter and Ryan Cole and Maddie and Jack McNutt.
Friends may call on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., from 9 am until the time of the service at 11am.
