Obituary for Glenn Miller

Glenn Miller, age 69, of Erie, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 23rd, 2021 after an extended battle with cancer. He was born on July 18th, 1952 in Erie to the late Maryde Brackett Miller and G. William "Bill" Miller.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy Miller to whom he was married for 47 years. Adoring father of Maura (Brian) Bihler, Phillip (Sarah) Miller, and Matthew (fiancé Brenna) Miller. Loving grandfather, “Bapa,” of Adam, Adele, Ethan, Lydia, and Julia. Brother of Carol (Frank) Damico, Norman (Sharon) Miller, and sister-in-law, Patricia Miller. He was also survived by many close cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his adoptive mother, Veronica, brother, Brian Miller, sister, Janet Breese, and her husband, Edward Breese.

Glenn graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in 1970, attended John Carroll University, and graduated from Gannon University in 1974. Glenn's passion in life was to carry on the family business, G.J. Miller Auto Supply.  Founded by his grandfather in 1915, G.J. Miller has served Erie and the surrounding area for over 106 years. Glenn was extremely appreciative of all who worked with him at G.J. Miller and the many friendships that resulted with customers and suppliers throughout the years.
 
Glenn adored being surrounded by his beloved friends and family. Every Sunday Glenn would spend afternoons prepping and cooking dinner for his family. He was the master planner who started his neighborhood’s annual block party in Millcreek that continues today. He was a man of deep faith and a devout Catholic. An avid sports fan, Glenn spent weekends cheering on the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Miami Dolphins at the Siebenbuerger Club where he was a lifetime member. In the summer, you could always find him at the ball-field rooting for the Erie Seawolves, where he held season tickets for over 25 years.
 
Family and friends may call on Wednesday, October 27th at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie, PA 16502. from 2pm-4pm, and again from 7pm-9pm. and are invited to the prayer service at 10:15 am at the funeral home followed by the Funeral Mass Thursday, October 28th at St. Lukes Church at 11am. The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on the Kloecker Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
