Obituary for Gerald Roos
Gerald J. Roos, 86, of Erie, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021.
He was born in Erie on August 19, 1935, a son of the late Edward and Marian (Short) Roos.
Jerry worked in management at Presque Isle Plastics for many years before his disability. He then took part time jobs at Walmart and McDonalds. Jerry was in the Navy Reserves and a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Siebenbuerger Club and a Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament Church. Jerry enjoyed many things in life including playing cards, going to the beach, riding bikes around the Penninsula, ice cream, and telling dad jokes. He enjoyed being around children and his animals. Most of all Jerry loved his family gatherings.
In addition to his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his daughter, Theresa Rittenhouse, brothers, Edward Roos and his wife Aida and Richard Roos, his sister, Rita Callahan and her husband Paul, and his dogs, Marty and Holly
Jerry is survived by the love of his life for 66 years, Rosemarie (Schick) Roos, children, Gary Roos, John Roos (Joyce), and Edward “Butch” Roos (Laura), thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, his sister, Marian Bates (Thomas), and his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Roos, and his dog, Lily.
Friends may call on Tuesday starting with the Rosary at 1:45 until 4pm and 7 pm until 9 pm at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras Street Erie, PA 16502. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 followed by the Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10 am. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com.
