Obituary for Dorothy Barringer (Shurrager)
Dorothy M. Barringer, 78, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
She was born in Erie on December 3, 1943, a daughter of the late Norman C. and Bertha M. (Colegrove) Shurrager.
Dorothy graduated from Villa Maria Academy in 1962. On May 21, 1965 she married the love of her life Fred W. Barringer. Together they raised three sons, Frederick, Andrew, and Matthew. Dorothy helped open Dicks, A.C. Moore, and Wegmens. She enjoyed going for drives, eating out, and shopping.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Fred W. Barringer, and three siblings, Raymond Shurrager, Norman Shurrager, and Mary Ann Welch.
She is survived by her sons, Frederick Barringer, Andrew Barringer (Deborah), and Matthew Barringer (Samantha), grandchildren, Tedmund, Elizabeth, Isaac, and April. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call on Friday at the Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2502 Sassafras St. Erie, PA 16502 from 3 pm until 7 pm. The Funeral Service will be at the funeral home on Saturday at 10 am followed by the burial at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery.
