Obituary for David Carrier
David Roland Carrier (Dave), son of Theodore and Novella (Jahnig) Carrier, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, Sunday, September 11, 2022.
He was born in Butler County, PA on September 20, 1931. Though Dave lived in a few other states, for a short time, he really enjoyed his home of Erie, PA where he lived nearly all of his years. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 35 years, Kay (Mary Katherine Carrier), and other family members, and he is survived by his children, step children, and friends.
Dave generally greeted his friends and family with “Hi, hi!" and was always happy to sit and chat with old friends or new friends over a cup of coffee. He liked to share his views, which he said were "like belly buttons... everyone has one”. He would recall various endeavors from his many years or sometimes give advice saying, “do what you think is best”, or that the advice was "worth what you paid for it... nothing”.
Dave had a wealth of experiences through his lifetime. He had many jobs, a few businesses, and even spent time as a paratrooper in the Army. He most enjoyed sharing with others his classic cars, some of which, as an auto mechanic, he built or restored himself, and his collection of bluegrass and old country music, which he was delighted to find available on the internet. When asked of his activities as his time here was winding down, he would joke and say, he didn't do anything that day because, “I’m retired you know!”.

Burial will be private. A memorial service will be held on October 22, 2022 at 4:00pm at the Asbury Heights Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3604 Asbury Rd., Erie, PA. 16506.
