Charles “Chuck” Faytak, age 62, of Erie, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020.
He was born in Erie on December 9, 1957, a son of Nora Knorr and the late Edward Faytak.
Chuck had a great sense of humor, he was fun and loved to socialize. He was very creative and enjoyed working with his hands. Chuck was very religious, he was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus and was dedicated to the Erie Cursillo Movement. He enjoyed singing at Pleasant Ride, St. Francis Church, and the Cursillo Corral. Chuck lived to help others, not just family and friends. He was a Boy Scout Leader when his sons were young. He was an active member at Sacred Heart Church especially in the Knights of Columbus. Chuck helped other churches around Erie, in the Community Outreach Group, and helping in the kitchen for various events. He was a star-gazer, every year he would take his bride to Cherry Springs for telescoping weekends. Dianne and Chuck were made for each other and God blessed them with seven happy years. He will be missed by many, many people.
Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Edward Faytak, step-father, Henry Knorr, and his sister, Kathy Faytak in infancy.
He is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Dianne Miller Faytak, his mother, Nora Knorr, sons, Matthew Faytak (Natalia) and Andrew Faytak, brother, Edward Faytak (Shelley), sister, Debbie Kephart (David), step-brothers, Robert Knorr and John Knorr. Many nieces and nephews survive, as well as his Cursillo group reunion brothers.
Friends may call on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church from 9 am until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 am. Burial will be private. The Kloecker Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. is handling the arrangements. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com
