Obituary for Anne Popa
Anne Popa, age 99, of Erie, PA., passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021. She was born on February 6, 1922, a daughter of the late John and Anna Badiila Stoica.
Anne graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1940. She married Paul Popa on October 18,1941. During WWII she worked for the Department of the Navy in Virginia.
She was a housewife and enjoyed raising her children John and Pattie. Anne was an avid bowler and continued to bowl into her late 80's. She bowled at the GCS Club, Saint Mary's and Polish SharpShooters. Anne enjoyed cooking the beach, spending time with her family, and many friends and neighbors. She especially looked forward to spending time with her daughter shopping. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her kindness, smile, laughter and wonderful conversations will be missed tremendously.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Popa, brother Ioan Stoica, daughter Patricia Popa, sister in law Veronica Popa and brother in law Charles Popa.
Anne is survived by her son John Popa and his wife Alma; Grandson Chris Popa and his wife Annette; four grandchildren, Juliana Popa, Tatem Mielewski, Juliet Popa and Deanna Popa.
