John J. Tirpak

John J. Tirpak, Jr., age 74 of Erie passed away on Monday, June 18, 2012 at the St. Vincent Health Center. He was born on August 18, 1937 in Erie, PA a son on the late John, Sr. and Margaret (Turos) Tirpak. John was employed at Dispatch Printing and Millcraft Paper Company. He attended Blessed Sacrament Church and served as an usher for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends. John was known for his expertise in deer hunting. He was preceded in death by a daughter Pamela Ann Horne; two sisters Joan Tirpak and Diane Knight. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Romona Sitter Tirpak; three sons Jeffry A. Tirpak and his wife Roberta Judson of North Royalton, Ohio, Thomas M. Tirpak of Erie and Robert W. Tirpak and his wife, Angela Rocco Tirpak also of Erie. He was grandfather and mentor to 7 grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Steve, Nicole, Hunter, Benjamin and Sofia; and one great grandchild. Relatives and friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St. on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and are invited to attend a prayer service at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass at Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:00 AM. The Blessed Sacrament Ushers will recite the rosary Wednesday evening at 6:45 PM. Send condolences to www.kloeckerfuneralhome.com Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monsignor Connolly Endowment Fund of Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 West 26th St., Erie, PA 16508.
